Happy Endings Dog Rescue, Camp Diggy Bones and Paws of Hope are celebrating the Graduation of nine canines from the Paws of Hope Training Program on August 19, 2011. The Graduation marks the first group of rescue dogs from Happy Endings Dog Rescue and Camp Diggy Bones to be trained by Paws of Hope. The three month program is held at the MTC Sanders Estes Unit Correctional Center in Venus, Texas. The program is a win- win situation for both the offenders of the Correctional Center and the rescued animals. The dog training program was set up by MTC (Management and Training Corporation) as a way to help rehabilitate offenders to re-enter society. Not only helping them, the dogs are also rehabilitated to re-enter new and happy homes. The dogs are trained and taken care of by offenders getting ready to leave the facility and upon graduation, these loving dogs are spayed/neutered, have their shots, are potty trained, kennel trained and can do some great tricks. These dogs have come from less than perfect circumstances and because of the training and tremendous amounts of love they receive, are ready to be adopted and become a part of someone's family. Dewey Low Rider
Dewey is the most adorable little boy who looks like a corgi heeler mix with one blue eye. He has a love for life that could not even be diminished by the hard life he has lived until now. He is waiting for his forever family to give him the chance to see how good family life can be. Dewey loves people and loves to play with other dogs. He is very smart and the more you teach him the more he wants to learn.
This young heeler mix is happy all the time and just being around him makes you smile. When he runs his little short legs go a mile a minute. You'll laugh out loud watching him.
Dewey would love a moderately active home with or without other dogs where he could play and run and learn new tricks. He is a house dog and would not do well being left outside away from his family for extended time periods. If you want to add another bundle of joy to your family, come and meet Dewey. You will not be able to resist his charm. Dewey is up to date on his vaccinations, micro chipped and neutered. He is a Happy Endings rescued dog available for adoption through the collaboration of Happy Endings and Camp Diggy Bones.

Bullet
Bullet is one of the smartest dogs we have ever seen at Camp Diggy Bones. He is exuberant and playful and is just so comical that his name should be Clown. He loves to run and play, and would be best in an active home with or without another dog.
His intelligence and athleticism make him a great candidate for agility training and/or a Frisbee dog. He will be a wonderful pet that you could teach any number of tricks. Bullet is up to date on his vaccinations, micro chipped and neutered.

Bonnie June
Little Bonnie June is a sweet, cuddly border collie mix. She is a young girl under, 2 years, who is happy go lucky and just so thrilled to get attention and affection from people. She has learned the sit command and does well on a leash. Her favorite things are belly rubs and playing. Bonnie is looking for a home where she can be around her family as much as possible and live with them in the house. She is a pretty active little girl so would do best in a home where she has a yard to play.

Conner
This absolutely gorgeous brindle boxer is everything great about the breed. He is friendly, good with other dogs and loves people. He knows basic commands: come, sit, down, stay and walks well on a leash. He is unusually focused for a boxer of his age and thrives on sitting by your side being loved. When he plays with his friends at Camp Diggy Bones, he is fun loving and plays very politely. Even if he is engaged in play with another dog he will come when called.
Conner lived in a home with a family for the first part of his life but due to no fault of his own his family could not care for him any longer. This dog is a treasure and would make a great family dog. He is just 2 years old and deserves to spend the rest of his life in a home with a caring and loving family rather than in a kennel waiting to be found. He loves people so much that he should be kept inside with his family. He wants and needs to be part of someoneÕs life and to spend as much time with them as possible.
Conner is up to date on his vaccinations, neutered and micro chipped. He is a Happy Endings rescued dog available for adoption through the collaboration of Happy Endings and Camp Diggy Bones. To meet him please contact campdiggybones@gmail.com or call at 214-298-7562 to set up an appointment. His adoption fee is $100.
Kahula
This gorgeous rottie mix boy is a golden child at Camp Diggy Bones. He lived in a home until recently, when his family could no longer take care of him, but it is obvious this dog was well loved and well trained. He knows all the basic commands: sit, down, stay, come and wait. He walks well on a leash and is both people and dog friendly. Kahula is one of those dogs that breaks your heart because he knows what its like to live in a home and he really misses having a family of his own.
Kahula would make a great dog for a family with or without children and or other dogs. He needs to live in the house with his family where he belongs and would not do well living outside in a kennel. YouÕll never be sorry that you gave him a home. He is just the perfect dog and is move in ready!
Kahula is up to date on his vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered.
He is a Happy Endings rescued dog available for adoption through the collaboration of Happy Endings and Camp Diggy Bones. To meet him please contact campdiggybones@gmail.com or call at 214-298-7562 to set up an appointment. His adoption fee is $100.

Amber
Amber is a sweet little one year old lab mix female. She's happy go lucky and ready for the next stage of her life. (The stage where her forever family comes to find her and take her home.) Amber is a cuddly little girl who will just love to curl up in your lap or go out and play with you or other dogs all day long.
Amber is small compared to most labs, and probably has some border collie in her. She will probably top out at 35-40 pounds. Just like any young lab, she craves attention and affection and loves getting her belly rubbed. She has learned the sit command and wait command and is working on leash training. This is a true family pet and will be great with kids and other dogs.
Amber is up to date on her vaccinations, is spayed and micro-chipped. She is a Happy Endings rescued dog available for adoption through the collaboration of Happy Endings and Camp Diggy Bones. Raven
Raven is a ball of energy and loves to play with other dogs. She wants a forever home. She is bright and sweet, so the more she is trained, the happier she will be. She is probably a herding dog mix so her primary goal is to please her family and do her job. Whether her job is getting the morning paper, helping with the animals or waking the kids up for breakfast, this girl is up to the task.
Raven would make a great family dog for an active family. She is approximately 2 years old, so she still has a lot of puppy in her. She is a small dog toping out at about 35 pounds. She craves affection and loves being the center of attention. She has a happy go lucky attitude and when you meet her youÕll just have to take her home with you.
Raven is up to date on her vaccinations, micro chipped and spayed. She is a Happy Endings rescued dog available for adoption through the collaboration of Happy Endings and Camp Diggy Bones. To meet Raven please contact campdiggybones@gmail.com or call at 214-298-7562 to set up an appointment. Her adoption fee is $100.
Diesel
Diesel is a big, bold American Staffordshire mix who can only be described as a "dog at peace with the world". Nothing seems to bother him. He plays well and gently with other dogs. He likes people to say hello and give him a pat, but he does not beg for attention and is happy to keep himself occupied. Diesel knows the sit command and the wait command, but does need more work on a leash.
He is a high energy dog so he will need a spacious yard to run and play. Diesel has a carefree disposition even after being abandoned to fend for himself. He is now ready to find his forever home.
Diesel would make a great dog for a family with or without another dog and with or without children. With his size he might be better in a home with children over the age of ten since he could accidentally knock down smaller children.
Diesel is neutered, up to date on his vaccinations and micro-chipped. He is a Happy Endings rescued dog available for adoption through the collaboration of Happy Endings and Camp Diggy Bones. To meet Diesel please contact campdiggybones@gmail.com or call at 214-298-7562 to set up an appointment. His adoption fee is $100.
Adoption Qualifications:
- Must be 21 years or older
- Have a valid driver’s license or other photo ID with your current address.
- Homeowners must have secure, fenced-in back yards.
- Home inspections are required. We’ll check your fence to make sure there are no escape areas and that it is high enough for the dog you are interested in adopting.
- All pets must reside inside your home as part of your family. Because each of our dogs has been retrained to be loving pets, we will not adopt to anyone who is looking for an outside dog. To take a dog that has been trained to be with the family and keep it outside will make the dog depressed and unhealthy. We would like our dogs to be included in most family functions.
- Adoption application form must be filled out with Vet references.
If you meet these requirements and want to adopt one of these wonderful dogs, email us at
